From 1986 - 1994 Denise McIntyre managed the Training and Consulting Department for Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) in Brandon, Manitoba. She worked extensively with BDC's clients in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The training and consulting services were outsourced to a network of professional trainers and consultants.
During the latter part of her tenure with BDC, she was requested to pursue management positions that would require her to become transferable, and would require less client contact; therefore, she chose to pursue entrepreneurship as an alternative career solution.
In 1994 Denise McIntyre began her own business, The Learning Edge Inc. The Learning Edge gained immediate support from clients in the Prairie Provinces. Denise continues to experience growth and diversity in her business. She has explored new opportunities by becoming a partner in a regional accounting firm and has become affiliated with a Singapore, England, Australia and U.S. based training organizations. The Learning Edge currently has offices in Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and London.
